Val Gardena, 26 November 2015 – Numerous prestigious awards recognise that Val Gardena is one of the best skiing areas of the Alps and in the world. The last prestigious award handed to the valley was the ‚World Ski Awards 2014’.

On Saturday 22 November, the ‘World Ski Awards 2014‘, the internationally recognised and prestigious skiing carousel Oscar, was awarded to Val Gardena for being the best skiing area in Italy.
The nominees were Cervinia, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Courmayeur, Madonna di Campiglio, Sestriere and Val Gardena.
Around 1 million winter sport fans from 127 countries voted for the best skiing carousels, hotels and chalets.

The Director of Val Gardena Gröden Marketing, Josef Kelder, accepted the award during a Gala Evening with other 200 guests from 20 different countries, stating that they: “We are honoured to receive this award. It confirms that our hard work over the years and continuous investment was recognised and appreciated by winter sport athletes. However, we also recognise that this means we have to keep on working hard in the same direction. “

Further awards:
Surveys carried out by Skiresort.de, Skigebiete-test.de, Snowplaza.de, Mountain Management Consulting confirm that Val Gardena is one of the best skiing areas and holiday destinations in the world.
Top scores were given to the total skiing area surface, the lifts and cable cars, snow safety, slope preparation and the number of huts on the mountains.
The mountainous landscape was greatly appreciated.
