Traffic restrictions at Gardena Pass
The experimental traffic restrictions at Gardena Pass, originally scheduled to come into effect on 1 September 2026, will not be implemented in the form initially planned for the time being. Instead of an actual road closure, only a "virtual" or digital trial will be carried out. This means there will be no physical roadblocks and no penalties for vehicles that do not comply with the proposed restrictions.
During this trial phase, traffic flows will be closely monitored and analysed. The data collected will provide a basis for the development of future traffic-calming measures on the Dolomite passes.
