How to use 3 day Gardena Pass
I have purchased two 3-day Gardena passes to use in Ortisei for several of the lifts. I have received a PDF receipt with a QR code. What will be required to show at the lift stations to use the pass? Should I print out the confirmation email? Will I need to pick up physical cards at a lift station or will the online QR code work for access to the participating lifts?

Using the Gardena Card purchased online is straightforward, but it helps to know how the turnstiles read your ticket:
1. Direct Access via QR Code (No Physical Card Needed)
You do not need to queue at a ticket window or pick up physical RFID cards. The PDF voucher with the QR code is your actual ticket and works directly at the lift turnstiles.
* How to Scan: Hold your phone screen face-up under the optical QR reader below the turnstile screen, or place your printed voucher under the reader.
* Phone Setup: Set your phone screen brightness to 100\% and save the PDF/screenshot directly to your photo library or wallet so you don't rely on mobile coverage at the valley stations.
2. Printing the Voucher (Recommended)
While scanning directly off a smartphone works, printing out the PDF confirmation email is strongly recommended as a backup:
* Optical scanners at busy stations (such as Seceda or Mont Sëuc in Ortisei) occasionally struggle with phone screen glare or small screens.
* Having a physical paper printout avoids issues if your phone battery drains or cellular signal drops.
3. Pass Activation & Validity
* First Use Activation: Your 3 days start counting automatically the moment you perform your very first scan at a turnstile.
* Consecutive Days: The pass is valid for 3 consecutive calendar days once activated (not 72 flexible hours). For example, if you first scan it on a Tuesday morning, it will be valid through Thursday evening.
* Unlimited Rides: During those 3 days, you have unlimited access to all participating lifts across Val Gardena.
