Exactly 150 years ago, on August 13, 1869, Paul Grohmann was the first to climb the Sassolungo. The Sassolungo was considered impregnable at the time due to the dangerous rock slides and the lengthy time required for the ascent. It was a sensational conquest, a pioneering conquest.
