More than 20 years have passed since March 1999, when a group of tennis enthusiasts from Val Gardena decided to bring a professional tournament to the valley.
And as in the past years, the entry list of the tournament will be impressive again this year. Numerous top 100 players have entered the tournament in the past editions. Special highlights were the multiple participation of South Tyrolean tennis ace Andreas Seppi (2013 at no. 18 of the ATP world ranking and current no. 107) and Jannik Sinner from Pustertal (current no. 36 of the ATP world ranking), who is described as one of the greatest talents of the future.
